James Grant & Jody Wisternoff

James Grant & Jody Wisternoff

James Grant & Jody Wisternoff are two British DJs, producers, and tastemakers who have helped define Anjunadeep’s sound for more than a decade through their curation, collaborations, and performances around the world.

An in-demand DJ who has performed everywhere from Miami and Tokyo to Goa, Europe, and Central and South America, London-based, internationally renowned producer and tastemaker James Grant is known as much for his work with the popular electronic music label as he is for his deep, melodic house beats. James Grant is the brother of Jono Grant, co-founder of progressive trance giants Above & Beyond, whom he also manages. After Above & Beyond became one of trance’s biggest labels during the early 2000s, the duo and James launched sublabel Anjunadeep in 2005, serving as a vehicle for releases that fell outside of the main label’s largely trance-oriented oeuvre. James has driven the A&R at Anjunadeep since its inception.

Jody Wisternoff’s roots stretch back to the earliest days of UK rave culture. A finalist in the DMC World DJ Championship at just 13, he became a staple of iconic venues and promoters before forming the legendary duo Way Out West with Nick Warren, responsible for a run of charting singles including the UK dance number one ‘Mindcircus’. In recent years, Jody’s solo output on Anjunadeep, including albums such as ‘Nightwhisper’ and 2024’s ‘Welcome To My World’, has amassed tens of millions of streams and widespread radio support. Together, James and Jody have mixed every Anjunadeep compilation since Anjunadeep 06, becoming the guiding hands of the series. Their studio partnership has produced fan favourite tracks including ‘Nightwhisper’, ‘Mui’, and ‘Feel This Way’, alongside celebrated remixes such as Xinobi’s ‘Far Away Place’. As a DJ duo, they have performed at the label’s biggest events, from Printworks to ABGT milestone shows and Anjunadeep Open Air at London’s Old Royal Naval College.

This spring, the pair returned with Anjunadeep 16, curating a collection of melodic cuts across the Anjunadeep, Anjunachill, and Explorations families. Longtime favourites Cubicolor, Dosem, Marsh, and Spencer Brown appear alongside rising names Durante, Ezequiel Arias, Because Of Art, and Amtrac, while new voices including Kloyd, obli, Martin Rola & David Mackay, and Kiskadee make their debuts.
