“A Smile With Scars” is the third and final single from CRi’s upcoming AMi Vol. 1, set for release on April 24th.

The track was born out of a long-standing connection between CRi and Romain, who had spent years crossing paths while touring the world. In the summer of 2025, they finally slowed things down, retreating to a cabin in Quebec to focus on creating together, an experience that ultimately shaped the song.

AMi is more than just a music project; it’s a concept that celebrates the relationships and friendships formed through life on the road, in the studio, and behind the decks, spaces where creativity brings people together. The EP’s release will coincide with the launch of CRi’s AMi North American tour, kicking off in Montréal.

Reflecting on the collaboration, CRi notes how rare it is to meet fellow Francophone artists in the international electronic scene, and how an instant sense of authenticity and humour defined their connection. That bond naturally evolved into ‘A Smile With Scars’, written during Romain’s visit to the Laurentians.

For Romain, the track captures a long-overdue creative moment. Despite years of meeting across different cities, they had never found the time to make music, though they always managed to share a beer. In Laurentians, they finally reversed that pattern: settling into a relaxed lakeside setting, beers still in hand, but this time channelling their energy into music. The result is a track that feels effortless and genuine; simple, unforced, and rooted in friendship, making it feel especially fitting on AMi.
